Insurance Program Specialist
The New York State School Safety Group 491 offers a workers' compensation program that is managed by Glatfelter Brokerage Services. The Group Manager underwrites new and renewal business, handles billing, offers claims assistance, and provides a pricing indication for group members.
Services provided by Glatfelter Brokerage Services (Group Manager):
- Underwriting of new business
- Review all renewals issued by the State Insurance Fund
- Administer the billing process
- Market the program to New York State schools
- Act as a problem solver and advocate for members
- Resolve billing inquiries and claims issues
- Review State Insurance Fund audits for accuracy
- Provide loss runs, Certificates of Insurance, and endorsements
- Provide Safety and Loss Control services
- Administer State Insurance Fund Safety Group Rules and Regulations
- Provide bi-monthly Safety Agendas
- Coordinate meetings of the Executive Committee and implement decisions

- Claims administration
- Representation before the Workers' Compensation Board
- Risk Control site visits and consultations
- Workshops on claims administration and loss prevention
